Tomi Falade

Author • Journalist • Life Editor

Tomi Falade is a homebody who breathes life into history while wearing her favourite glasses, sipping a Coca-Cola, and pounding away at her laptop.

When writing, she alternates between the familiar comfort of her dining table and her pink bedroom, where she hides from the world to focus entirely on her craft. When she isn't reimagining ancient empires, she actively shares her modern-world experiences through her WhatsApp statuses, fiercely protecting her peace by lazing around the house to watch fantasy epics and police procedurals.

As a historical storyteller, she debuted with the play ỌLỌ́BÙN: Matriarch of Ondo, Mother of Legacy, before taking a sharp, comedic turn with her popular short story anthology, Dates From Hell. She now returns to her dramatic roots with her mid-2026 twin releases: Orompotoniyun: 12 Nights for a Crown and Alayemore: The Twice-Crowned King.

Beyond the pages, Tomi Falade is an award-winning journalist with a background in English and Law. She serves as the Life Editor at Independent Newspapers Limited and is the current Vice Chairman of the Arts and Culture Writers Association of Nigeria (ACWAN).
